Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra
Yogi Berra, born in 1925, is a former Major League Baseball catcher, coach, and manager. He played almost his entire baseball career for the New York Yankees.
Berra's one of the only four players to be named the Most Valuable Player of the American League three times. Additionally, he was an 18-time all star and 10 time world series champion as a player. He's widely regarded as being one of the best catchers in baseball history. Berra played 19 seasons of professional baseball and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.
He was born in an Italian-American neighborhood in St. Louis. His parents were Italian immigrants from Milano in Northern Italy. Yogi passed away on September 22nd, 2015.
